Conrad Wolfram

Conrad Wolfram *founded Wolfram Research Europe Ltd. in 1991 and is also Director of Strategic and International Development at Wolfram Research, Inc.---founded by brother Stephen Wolfram. Alongside the companies' Mathematica technology, he has become well-known in the technical computing industry for his combination of strategic business leadership, executive management and detailed technical understanding.

He is a regular keynote at events around the world and amongst other interests, advocates innovative computer-based concepts for the transformation of maths and science education. The explosive announcement and release of Wolfram|Alpha in 2009 is driving broad interest in Wolfram technologies---which Conrad is now developing into key emerging businesses.

Conrad holds an MA in Natural Sciences and Maths from Pembroke College, Cambridge and lives in Oxfordshire].

• Getting real-time answers not only depends on immediate information retrieval but immediate analysis too.
• To do this we need to democratise the necessary computational expertise (a bit like the web and search have democratized information retrieval).
• This brings up wider issues of approaches for maximising the use of knowledge assets in organisations including governments and how we educate people better for this new era.
